SenseWare has been developed for permanent measuring of analog values (e.g. temperature, pressure, humidity or the like) in rotating process vessels in a tough industrial environment.
Here the option of contact rings is abandoned and readings are transmitted contactless from the rotating onto the stationary part.
A transmitter-receiver combination which is mounted to the process vessel near the axis will then provide for the transmission of the reading. An additional source of energy on the rotating side is not required. Once per revolution the transmitter moves past the receiver at a distance of about 5 – 10 mm. While doing that, the stationary receiver induces sufficient energy into the mobile transmitter so that a microprocessor there can take the reading and retransmit it.
As an interface for the reading, there is alternatively a CAN connector, a 4-20mA interface or a synchronous protocol in 24V technology.
While in the past only manual measurements were possible with rotating containers, we now have the chance to do readings, logging and further automation permanently.
